this used to happen to me all the time when i wore only pads. when you sit down, it closes up the opening to your vagina (it also happens sometimes when the blood pools inside your vagina from laying down, then standing up)

it's totally natural, but since i have switched to wearing tampons (and alternating with pads for safety reasons) it doesnt happen to me anymore.

hope this answers your question.

This is quite normal. Women tend to have blood pooling or cloting at the cervix when sitting. If you have a blockage by clot or position your body will have the urge to push it out. (Just like the urge to blow snot out of your nose.) Then it will remove all the blood that was pooled waiting for release.

yes, when you are sitting, blood tends to get trapped inside and rush out when you stand, especially during your first or second day (usually the heaviest). If you felt the urge to push, it may have been a clot trying to come out, also normal.

That gush of blood is pretty normal during the heaviest time of your period.

If it continues for more than a few days each period, or repeats each month, I'd recommend seeing your OBGYN to make sure everything is ok inside.

Yes, it's normal for me. I wouldn't worry about it unless you lose a lot of blood (changing pads/tampons every hour or so) or get light headed, etc.
