The Lemmings have been saying that the Iraqis want us to stay.. now the Iraqi Prime Minister has dissed the Bush regime why are still there and Americans are dying?

BAGHDAD - Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki shrugged off U.S. doubts of his government's military and political progress on Saturday, saying Iraqi forces are capable and American troops can leave "any time they want."

One of his top aides, meanwhile, accused the United States of embarrassing the Iraqi government by violating human rights and treating his country like an "experiment in a U.S. lab."

IS THERE NO SHAME LEFT IN AMERICA?

I read that article too this morning. I was highly surprised.

I dont agree with what he said, and he is making a mistake. The Iraqi government cant even keep the electricity on a full 24 hours, and most attacks by insurgents are targeting masses of Iraqi's. The US death toll is under 10,000 and the Iraqi death toll since occupation has been well over 100,000. The Iraqi's definitely cannot secure there country, also in addition with Turkey massing tens of thousands of troops on the Turkish- Iraqi border. If the US wasnt there, Turkey would come and go as free as they want to do there operations against kurdish rebels. I would like more then anything for the US to come back home and reconstitute, but the Iraqi PM is highly mistaken. It must have been taken out of context. Iraq doesnt even have an Air Force, with strike aircraft. Without close air support the US death toll would be more horrific.

I think the Iraqi's are a little ungrateful.

That isn't what he said. What he said was "the Iraqi security forces can maintain the peace in Iraq if US forces leave". Which basically means, they will carry on without us. That is not the same as saying "we are not needed". In recent months, we have largely cleared Anbar province and parts of Dyallah province of El Qaida forces. Obviously the task of the Iraqi government is easier if El Qaida is not there to infect them and cause mayhem.

Didn't you see Fahrenheit 9/11? The Bush family is making millions negotiating for oil in the Middle East. George W. needs Iraqi oil for his retirement years.

We are not in Iraq for any other reason than being close to Iran!!!! We are staying put to keep a close eye on the ever present necular force being boasted about by Iran. We want their oil and their other natural resources (gem's) for our Import market. If we leave, we will have no berring on the war soon to come from Iran.

The Shiite Al Malaki would like us to leave Iraq for him and his Iranian backers.
Iraq Constitutionally includes the Sunnis and Kurds as well. Al Malaki has not asked us to leave because he does not have the authority
We knew going in that the Shiite majority would seek a bloodbath revenge on the Sunnis if they were given absolute control.
You are proposing giving them absolute control.

Perhaps for the same reason that your name supposedly depicts.. For humanitarian reasons. Do you propose leaving millions behind for a dreadful fate because they stood up and supported the U.S. after we invaded their country?

Or would you rather we immediately pulled out and to hell with them? If you want SHAME, my friend, that IS shame!
