While Neville Chamberlain did say "peace in our times." He wasn't the one who coined the term. The term was coined many years earlier in 1878 by another British Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli who stood at the cabinet room window at Number Ten Downing, and coined this phrase as he announced his peace deal with the Russians and the Germans over the first Balkan Crisis. Neville Chamberlain was a very young lad at the time and was deeply moved by this. He always remembered it, and when he later negotiated with the Germans he thought this was the most appropriate thing he could say. However, he later said this was a huge mistake, and one he regretted to his dying day (which occured in November of 1940). Of course, Winston Churchill coined the Term "Iron Curtain," on March 5, 1946, during a speech at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri. And who can forget Nikita Khruschev's taking off his shoe and banging it on the desk, which he did at the United Nations on October 13, 1960.

RE:
Who coined the phrase "Timing is everything"?
I have attempted to perform a search on the phrase "Timing is everything" and I can't seem to find any answers. Does anyone here know? Oh yes, indeed timing is everything. I use the phrase all of the time. Did I just write the word time?

Umm well i think that this might be one of those things where perhaps it wasn't coined.Rather, someone just said it and another probably thought it was cool so they used it. I've used it before and its not half bad and unlike most sayings it lacks that some what annoying quality that i for one think makes the speak sound like a know it all.

Timing ha Some say that the clock was on of the worst inventions ever made. people that worry about time alot seem to get stressed and dependant on smokes and other things. Take things as they come. Appreciate every day.
