Many great people die young. Perhaps it is the intensity of it all which saps the life. Perhaps it is just 'peakedness. But would you rather live a short but brilliantly contributory life or a long average life?

What a cool question.

I think I'd rather live a long life of averageness. Before you jump down my throat, let me explain. I believe life is to be enjoyed. This enjoyment can come from simple pleasures like a good meal and playing bocce ball, or more complicated things like falling in love.

Once I'm gone, I really don't think I care how I'm remembered. My loved ones will remember me fondly, perhaps with some element of sadness. Call it selfish, but I truly don't care if my name is ever written in a history book for deeds of dastardly or benevolent nature. I'd rather squeeze in my mundane joys, and experience them as they happen.

A short life of brilliance - I would prefer to be proud of myself through life - and I'm the sort of person who judges myself to harshly - so if I lived a long and average life i wouldn't feel as good about myself.

On the other hand some would say that all life is brilliant - it really depends on your idea of brilliant

Long average life, because in our own average ways we can contribute to the wellness of another person. I would rather help when I can, and live longer to help more in my average joe life than to die young. Brilliance comes in many forms, not just in invention or theory. Sometimes brilliance happens when you finally figure out how to hide broccoli in spaghetti sauce :o)

i understand that short, short lives of 15 - 20yrs will sadden father and mom and grandparents who've a tendency to stay into their 70s and 90s in this cutting-element age of improved drugs and good well being care. Even in the previous 4mths i examine comments of many little ones taking their very own lives. some pupils, others foreigners who attempt to earn money for their undesirable households back abode. it incredibly is an exciting project to know all hazards with a view to be secure, besides as to stay healthily and sensibly on a daily basis. For sake of father and mom, kin and acquaintances, i'd want to stay an prolonged existence so as that i will make a contribution extra to kin and society. yet there is not any assure that my destiny existence would be all unhappy or all satisfied; i believe it would likely be a mixture of the two, and am completely arranged to fulfill with the united statesand downs. it would additionally be plenty exciting to make certain how society, the international, panorama and attitudes would exchange in the subsequent various many years.

Hi,

At the moment I am living the average life, how long for is anybodies guess.

The amount of people on this Earth who actually do make a difference and who will be remembered for eternity can probably be counted on one persons digits.

Very few make such a statement all the rest of us are just plodding along.

Long life of average-ness. Long life = more people. More people (more experiences) = better chance of meeting people with a short lifetime of brilliance.
