A.J. Smith. He let his personal feelings about Marty Schonttenheimer get in the way of their professional relationship and he fired him. He gave up four draft picks for Eric Weddle, who is a decent defensive back, but its not like he's Champ Bailey. That's aside from the fact that the AFC is incredibly stacked. You may have two 10-win teams who are on the outside looking in come January.

None of the above they are waiting for Sid gilman to walk through the door and hoping its 1963, other than that maybe a dose of Marty kool aid hangover. There defense just does not play smart in the big games to many stupid penalties and there offense is truly lack any consistent play with the wide outs. look if it was not for Antonio gates and Lt they would have no receivers. I say look for a big fall off maybe 9-7 @ best and aj will have some major pucker factor going on.

The Chargers have the tons of talent on both sides of the field. They were the favorites to go to the Super Bowl last year and should be one of the favorites this year. Look at what the Colts did from the past few years as they lost some heartbreakers in the playoffs. It took them a few years to finally win the big one. The Chargers will be one of the top two or three contenders this year-- you'll see.

The Marty influence. You'll notice that no team that Marty ever coached has been to a Super Bowl either during or since Marty coached there. San Diego will not be an exception.

The New England Patriots.

Seriously, firing Marty was a bad move. That team has a TON of talent on both sides of the ball, but you don't fire a guy who coaches you to 14-2.

The Patriots or the Colts. It's really hard to tell if the Chargers will be as good or better as last year, they've had alot of changes.
