You could walk to New Jersey in eleven days and hand deliver it.

Judging from the postmarks on the mail I receive, it seems the US Postal Service can deliver a first-class letter from two thousand miles away in three or four business days, usually less. You should have nothing to fear.

If you want to make sure the people at the receiving end got these in time, you may want to send them using the delivery confirmation service USPS provides. That will significantly increase the cost of postage.

They should get there way ahead of time. A day or two is the usual.

I think the record (from a newspaper) was 25 years for a postcard they found in a postman's garage undelivered when he got tired of his work.

It all depends on the-not-so-dependable bar code readers that the post office uses. If it prints out the wrong bar code zip code on your post card...well..lets just say that your post card is going to get its moneys worth in traveling anywhere around the US.
