They are going to be shown on ESPN Deportes.

If I got the channel, then I would check out softball (those girls rock!!!).

No, I believe ESPN Deportes is carrying the Pan Am games and very few non-spanish speakers watch ESPN Deportes.

The American sports landscape is so crowded now that its hard to even make time for the big international events like the Olympics and World Cup.

I don't know if the Pan Am Games are even on television in the United States. Someone may pick up some highlights.

Most of the sports in the games don't generate much enthusiasm, for whatever reason, unless they are in the Olympics themselves. We care about track for one week every four years, and that's about it. Swimming isn't much different. Amateur boxing and wrestling aren't on the radar screens. Even basketball doesn't generate much buzz any more.
