First the longest ever, then if it's different, the longest that was used by ancient civilizations in military conflicts.

I thought I heard long ago, maybe from the first Civilization game or something, that Macedonian had something like 30 meter long spears, but that sounded too long, even for me at the time (30 ft would still be long. Heck 10 feet is long for a spear). Yet it seems likely that someone would have tried to make a super-long spear, because as a spear length increases, so does the distance you can hit someone, but so does the weight, and difficulty of using it at shorter ranges, limiting the effectiveness of really long spears. So, what's the longest spear on record?

The longest spear that can be practically thrown, and meant for use against large animals or cavalry. Long spears have 1.8-2.1 meters (6-7 feet) of haft and at least 30 centimeters (1 foot) of blade at the end. With hooked ends, long spears can be harpoons.

Are you talking throwing spears or anything that had a point at the tip of a long haft which includes javelins, lances and pikes?

If you are talking about javelins the weight and length is limited by the strength of the thrower. You cannot throw a 30 feet javelin. The javelin used actually in the Olympic games is 2.6m and you can see how long that is.

The roman used both the lance and the throwing spear (pilum), a light roman pilum was 1.80m long and thrown from 30m away, the heavy one was 2.10m long and thrown from 20m away.
The greek javelin had a length of around 2.30m (6.54 feet).

However, if you include lances and pikes, the Macedonian phalanx did use a lance which was was 3 to 7 meter (13-21 feet) long, the sarissa.

16th century pikemen used pikes which were 4 to 6 meters long (13 to 19 feet).

Exactly 14' 3.5"

Actually, it would be impossible to really know for a variety of reasons, such as the fact that most spears' shafts were crafted from wood which would have long decayed by the time they are discovered.
