A STRING MOP IS BEST AND YOU CAN TAKE THE HEAD OFF AND WASH IT, STAYS CLEANER

Regular mop because a sponge mop doesn*t cover as much space, plus a sponge mop is more for quick jobs such as stains etc.
Cleaned display homes for over 20 years and had to get the job done fast and RIGHT to move on to the next house.
I wouldn*t have a sponge mop.

I use a sponge mop after i've scrubbed the floor with a brush. The regular mops are great for larger areas but if you only have a small amount of space a sponge one is fine.

They tend to be cheaper and wear out faster, but they are good for soaking up spills and use in smaller areas. The heads are replaceable and you can reuse the handle of the mop.

The string ones after a while start to lose pieces and you end up with bits on the floor. Also you need a bucket with a ringer to use it properly or else you end up with heaps of water on the floor.

I like sponge mops because you can usually clean quicker with them, the floor dry's quicker, you can spot clean, etc. I usually have a spray bottle with pinesol, i spray where i need to clean and scrub away with the sponge. The only thing is that these sponge mops dont seem to last as long, and in my opinion regular mops clean the floor better. I would have them both. One for quick cleanings when you dont have time to clean, and one for a good cleaning, maybe once a month or so. But they both generally do the same thing.

Suzi the last portion of your response is hilarious. I know it wasn't meant to be. I'm just in a humorous mood today. On a serious note..i personally like the old traditional regular mop. As someone else mentioned the sponge mop just moves the dirt.

I also have the Wondermop and it is SOOOOOOO much better than a sponge mop. Sponge mops always smell musty after a while, and you cannot get them clean. Hair gets stuck in them and they just smear the dirt around.

I would say a regular mop. and with boiling hot water, the floor dry´s quicker, and no smears. The sponge mops always leave lines, and it looks bad.

a sponge mop is good but what I have found to be better is the swifter wet mop. It's a bit pricey, but it gets the job done.
