Have to love common names. This could be a few things that I can think of.

The blue channel cat is one possibility, but these usually have long barbels (whiskers): http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/421.htm

There is a corydoras (C. nattereri) called a blue cory: http://www.scotcat.com/images/c_nattereri.jpg

And iridescent sharks (also with short barbels) can take on a bluish coloration when younger: http://www.fishinthe.net/html/fishguide/fishguide_fish.php?FC=34&nl=8&nt=5 (as compared with a normal silver: http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/318.htm )

This could also be a "blue" variation of a red-tailed botia: http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/641.htm

Since only you saw it, you'll have to let us know if it was one of these or something entirely different.

Copperhead pretty much covered all the freshwater "blue shark" possiblities. When you look at the label in the store, try to see if there are any latin names on the card. This is the only way to know what you are really dealing with.

I would have to see a pic of the ones in the Pet store to know for sure, but it' might be some kinda of Channel Catfish. They are silver/blue and have whiskers... Careful, they will eat anything that they can fit in their mouth, so don't put 'em with neon Tetra's or anything like that. :)
