Dozens of children die in Peru in the winter from the cold every year - I've found this same report from 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006, the only difference being the exact number of deaths reported. The reports also mention the amount of aid the Peruvian government requests. You think some of that money could have been used to prevent deaths from a regular recurring condition?

I often get nostalgic for those times and the late 60s (before that I was too young to remember clearly)
But you gotta take the good with the bad. For about three summers there it seems like every american city blew up into fire, violence, gunfire. for 3 or 4 days my neighbors and myself lived literally under the protection of the US Army. Not national guard. regular army with weaponry. then came a couple of very traumatic assasinations. Then after a small lull of a few years invigorated by the moon landings, came the first hints of Watergate, followed by the Arab oil embargo, a near constitutional crisis, inflation, stagflation, etc. guess I'm kinda rambling
On the good side we seemed to be making huge strides socially, and I'll be forever nostalgic for that.
But, really the nineties were so much better. The seventies were really pretty frightening.

Uh-oh. After reading the other answers it looks like I took this question way too seriously. I'll change my tune: how 'bout pet rocks and mood rings?

Colored socks hauled up to above the knees. My house was built in the 70's I have a dark green bath tub and in order to get it out I will have to smash it into pieces. My linoleum is the same butt ugly green. Getting ready to replace both LOL. I do have to say I love 70's clothing still and glad hippy is coming back a bit. Not long ago I went yard saleing with my oldest son and he said

"Mom can you buy me all these really cool frisbees" He loves classic rock so he though they were frisbees with Jimi Hendrix and the Beetles faces on them LOL. They were records of course.
Today at my moms my 8 year old was watching Boomerang channel and told me to come watch this really cool show called the Jetsons LOL I loved the Jetsons, Flintstones, Bionic Man, Captain Marvel.
