If the process of creation is a closed circle is all not just a redo of the last time around?

From time to time, cold hard science accidentally provides a hint into the reality of the softer disciplines. Physicists who deal with the laws of thermodynamics have a turn of phrasing that they use called "Spontaneous Events" to refer to any action within a system that occurs simultaneously with an increase in entropy. That scientific jargon sounds strongly reminiscent of the process of artistic creativity, no?

Entropy is a disturbing notion to those of us who value creativity, intricacy, and magic; as it is the ultimate buzzkill for all of those things we hold dear. Entropy is, at once, the perfect state of chaotic order in which all energy is evenly disbursed, and none is available to do work. It puts a strong damper on the artist process, to say the least.

However, it is possible to conserve this physical law and still not succumb to the doldrums of an end to novelty: Entropy only must maximize itself in a closed system. If there is (as it seems to us currently) an infinite universe, even science can't stop the artists! The earth is not a closed system, and if the universe isn't either, the process of creation is not a circle, but a ray, a line, or perhaps a cosmic slinky, slowly bouncing down a never-ending Escherian staircase.

A related thought comes to mind...is an entropic universe what occurs when god gets writer's block?

Most likely it is a redo or enhancement of the existing creation if a closed circle exists. I don't believe we have anything brand new. It's only built on what already exists.

No ... I think it just means the process of creation is reiterative, not repetitive. Anyway, it does seem like creation affects itself, but each instant that arises is necessarily new and unique.

Whatta wild question. I wonder if I should have attempted to answer it. *boggles*
