1. In much of their range, Box Turtles are threatened and protected. In many states, they are illegal to take from the wild. I do not expect the fact that it is illegal to sway you- after all, these laws are rarely enforced- but the reason WHY it is illegal is important I think. These guys are already extinct in much of their original range, and a lot of that is due to being captured for pets.

2, Wild-caught box turtles rarely settle down and make good pets. It is stressful to force them to change their way of living this much and they just plain do not adapt that well.

3. If you choose to keep it, I will make you a deal. I won't nag at you any more if you promise to keep it right, healthy, and happy.

I do not know which type of box turtle you have, so I cannot offer solid care advice, but you can get it from any of these sites:

4. Outside is always best for box turtles- IF your outside habitat is close enough to their natural home.

you do no longer point out what you are trying to feed him or how long you have had him. newborn container turtles are especially carnivorous and feed often on earthworms, slugs, snails and so on. you additionally can try mealworms, silkworms and waxworms. in case you're finding to latest fruit (which they take extra as they mature) then try candy crimson end result like strawberries or cherries. additionally they won't feed in the event that they do no longer seem to be heat sufficient and by using and great won't feed for various days in a sparkling environment. attempt to maintain his tension point down with the help of no longer coping with him and giving him considerable factors to conceal. carry him hydrated with the help of providing a shallow water dish to soak in. regardless of if it incredibly is a in basic terms these days have been given wild caught boxie he would never alter to captivity and would would desire to released close the place he was desperate.
