Well i am not an atheist but I think committing suicide is a bad idea regardless of your beliefs.

Atheist or not, suicide is too often a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Also, persons who commit suicide seldom realize the impact on those left behind. Feelings of abandonment, especially in children. Feelings of guilt because the person couldn't come to you with his/her problems. Confusion and spending the rest of your life asking "why?". On the one hand it can be viewed as the ultimate act of selfishness; but on the other hand one has to let one's own selfishness go and realize that the person was just done with life.

If we only have the one life to live and there is no after-life, why would we want to make our existence even shorter? Just because someone is an atheist doesn't mean that they have no hopes or dreams for the future. So to answer your question-bad idea.

I'm not an atheist; I'm more of an agnostic but I don't think you should have to be forced to live if you're in complete misery. One should be able to do what they want with their life, whether it means ending it is up to them.

im not athiest, but if i were it wouldnt change my mind that suicide is a bad idea... people would miss you and u dont wanna die giving other peeps a hard time

Wheather or not there is an afterlife(I'm inclined to say not) I say it's a real bad idea.
It's couwardly, and everyone who is still alive will mourn your unnessary death.
