and they don't cook for their own families either. Just because she works is no excuse not to cook a decent meal for her family sometimes.

Actually, many American women are great cooks.
If your wife works, then she has a pretty good excuse for putting together a light meal. Of course, it would do you some good to share in making dinners from time to time.
Consider the time she has available to do the dinner. A half century ago, the woman had an hour or two, or even the whole afternoon. Now, if she gets home at 6 and wants to have a dinner by 6:30, she has very little time. To top it off, you probably make her clean up after the whole deal while you mutter about how bad the meal was.
Grow up. Figure out how to run the stove, and get cooking. She deserves a decent meal from time to time.

I think that, if American women are really worse cooks, it's because American culture tends to undervalue really good food. Most of what I eat is frozen or prepackaged; I go months without turning on the oven. We're more about fast, convenient crap, which also explains our waistlines.
Actually, I have a friend who is both a pagan and a bisexual. She's one of the best cooks I've met.

Oh, I really beg to differ with you on this one.
You may not know many American working women.
I have 2 daughters-in-law that are wonderful cooks. One is a teacher, the other is an RN.
They might not prepare gourmet dinners every night, but the kids are eating right, no one is over-weight, and it's a happy time around the dinner table.
They have fully stocked pantries and fridges, always looking for family-favorite recipes...and using them.
Having a job doesn't mean MIcky-D's 6 days a week or pb&j sandwiches every night.

I am a good cook. Not a great cook, I admit. I also admit I don't cook dinner every night. I am dieting most of the time so I only cook a few times a week. My son gets pizza or frozen dinners. You're right though, that is no excuse.

Uh, excuse you!!! Not all american women are bad cooks. And there are alot of women that do cook decent meals for their families after work plus they clean their house and run errands amongst other things. So maybe you should regroup.

Oh you haven't tasted my cooking! I am an American and cook every day, we seldom go out to eat and all my food is cooked from scratch...see? There are always exceptions...

I think that american women don't know how to cook because that is not the focus on american women. The focus is eating fast food.......or starving thierselfs are just trying to watch the tv for the latest gossip.....
