What happened is that I was given 2 goldfish..i thought she was a goldfish...anyway, she was way fat yesterday and today there are a dozen very small brownish babies! 2 days ago there were no fish at all ever in that water!!!! someone please help!

Well, obviously they aren't goldfish! You must have some type of livebearer, a photo would help us determine which one.

It is a livebearer you were given. It is probably an orange/red platy as these are similar to the goldfish, but nowhere near related and do best in tropical conditions (she may have been shocked when she was transfered to cold-water). Other possibilities of a live-bearing fish that look similar to goldfish, but still are not related.

no goldfish belong to a class of egg layers like you know.
Livebearers give birth to live babies. heck out swordtails. Prehaps it was gold and you mistook it for a goldfish.
