CANON CITY, Colo. - A unit of 25 military paratroopers landed inside the perimeter of a state prison, but not to quell a riot or attempt some movie-script breakout. They just goofed.
he paratroopers, armed with exercise rifles that shoot rubber bullets, landed in a corn field outside the Fremont Correctional Institute early Thursday, Colorado Department of Corrections spokeswoman Katherine Sanguinetti said.

Guards escorted them off the grounds with no violence, she told the Rocky Mountain News.

Sanguinetti said she did not know which military unit was involved. She said an investigation is under way but it appears guards handled the inadvertent intrusion correctly.

Yeah some exercise! That's tricky stuff, inserting 25 whole paratroops inside a prison. The ol' saying KISS applies perfectly here. Why insert 25 troops by air, when you can go through the fence in an abrams tank! Not everything is a conspiracy. At least you didn't blame Bush, congrats.

You would be surprised how many times this sort of thing happens. I recall one where a whole company of troops landed in a high school football field. Don't automatically assume its some deep dark plot.
