What makes ppl join MS-13 and other gangs?

I was watching this documentary about MS-13 and I still do not understand what motivates a person to join such gangs. They show all these young kids from El Salvador, ages 14-16,they all share a house together, they already deal drugs and most of them have killed at least 3-4 people. How can humans reach such level of disconnection with love, God, spirituality and compassion at such young age?

those kids have no one to look up to and since they were born, have had a rough life. imagine being forced to take on adult responsibilities when your just a child. with so much pressure and no one there to talk to, these kids think that they can find some relation to these kids because they are just like them.. struggling and misunderstood. after that, they kind of get sucked in and its difficult to get out.

Alot of Gangbanger kids come from broken homes and have nothing they live in the streets and have to worry about being preyed apon and if they join a gang they get food shelter and money and most of all protection.Most of these kids have had such horrable lives that joining a gang is their only choice.Plus the image of a gangbanger our society all most makes it seem like its cool to be a thug.I wish that our media would stop focusing on excriminal rappers and maybee try to make kids want to be doctors or anything posative.Im not sticking up for the gangbanngers im just telling you how it is.

They've totally given up on any kind of hope, there aren't programs in place that reach out to the youth so they don't go down this path, it's a means to rebel against everything, a terrible home life, blah blah blah. There's no glory in it as far as we see it, but to the young impressionable mind it is. It's sad, but these children will not go beyond where they are, they simply don't want to and anyone that tells them otherwise don't know crap as far as they're concerned. At this point, their mentality is that of a rabid beast and there's but one way to deal with it.

Gang people have an extreme inferiority complex and are complete cowards. They don't have the balls to commit the crimes unless they are surrounded by their peers and are very macho- men only when they have a weapon in their hands, otherwise are just plain chicken. If those were actual men, they will do it alone and without a weapon.

MS-13 is mostly a Latino gang,they are now accepting Asians who learn Spanish.The Asians are mostly Vietnamese, Cambodians and Koreans.

Latinos from Mexico and central America being, by nature, physically less advantage than African Americans,were frequently easy victims in prisons.During the 1980s young Latinos who don't even understand english and know the laws were thrown in prison with hardcore criminals, mostly blacks.The Latinos were frequently rape and humiliated because they are the one that look closer to a women.The white prison guards in control,didn't care and this even amuse them.Latinos from El-Salvador started to organize them-self in prison and the Spanish language, common to them, serve to bound them even more.What you must understand is that during the debut, Gang lifestyle for Latino was a survival tool, not a way of life.For black kids, nowadays its a way of life because Hip-pop music make it look hype,cool.Because of their discipline and higher rate of loyalty,ms-13 gang becomes more dangerous than black gangs.It is very hard to infiltrate them because most of them are close related since their childhood and they hardly accept other races in their rank.Because they are so hard to control, the FBI try to work with enemy Gangs, less dangerous, in order to get more information about their activity.Black Gangs around United states are far less dangerous than ms-13 because they are just happy to street mugging Innocent hopeless Individuals,mostly blacks or immigrants.They try to work stealthily and avoid problem with police. instead they even work with FBI by giving them street tips against Latino gang activity or Muslim activity.The ms-13 are very dangerous because they really attack the base of US economy. They are involve in big Bank robbery,drug trafficking and even possibly deal with foreign terrorist.This is one of the reason border security is tidier than before.For years the republican government didn't do anything to seriously enforcing Mexican-us border, now they start to realize that gang crime can now serve foreign terror .The ms-13 would do anything for money, even serve foreign interest.For this reason they law enforcement around the country is closely focusing at them,but unfortunately less nationaly dangerous gangs got free hand to opressing poor non-white individuals.

u most probably saw that on national geographics,when i 1st saw that, i also reacted like u, when i again saw that, the only reason which i thought would b that those children and youngsters are ignored by the society. no one is ready 2 accept them, this is the true picture of racial segregation, may they b directed 2wards right path........
