How can we help destroy all forms of public housing for individuals and families who choose not to support themselves? I know many public housing residents and none of them need public housing. They take it becasue it is easy and they feel like they deserve it. How can we effectively take this away from them and make sure only people who truly cannot support themselves, handicapped, elderly etc, are the only ones who get govt subsidized housing?

instead of appreciating public housing they take advantage of it and make it a more violent atmosphere for themselves. just look what happened to that hispanic guy who was killed by a bunch of black people during juneteenth(whatever the hell this is).
anyway, it's too late. they will play the race cards when we don't support their lazy behavior.

What a Pillock! I don't know which Tory planet you scrounged a ride from but have you ever thought about the need of "Social Housing". OK! lets destroy all housing estates and give a piece of land to everybody, so everybody can live away from everybody else. Considering, the UK has over 60 million inhabitants and not enough land, you deserve a piece of the sea to float in. Council housing in particular benefits society. Lawers, doctors, teachers, engineers as well as cleaners and unemployed opt for "Social Housing" because it is affordable, the tenant doesn't have to worry about repairs and it can be good to meet your neighbours in the local pub, supermarket, library etc. and have a friendly chat and it could be a good location for work. Also, if somebody needs help, "Social Housing" is useful as there is always somebody there to help. Now I suggest, you go find a nice isolated island and rot there by yourself as you clearly can't live with other humans around you.

Give them 1 year to find a job and pay rent like other hard working ppl and I dont need to hear about we cant find a good job!
I know of many ppl that support themselves on little more than minimun wage so cry somewhere else!See they deserve it cuz they are willing to give it a try!
Welfare 1 year and your done ever again unless you spend one year at working then you earn a 1/4 of a year of welfare.
Kick them to the street and let them starve!Keep it for ppl that try to make it only!

If each honest, hard-working Christian American homeowner would just take the time to kill the de facto "head of household" of one poor family, the rest of them would soon starve to death and this whole public housing problem would go away! Why stop there? Why would you think the "elderly" are entitled to ANYTHING? Haven't they had their whole working lives to prepare for being old? Where do they get off being a burden on good folks like you & me?

Public housing is a product of good citizenship. But youre right... we shouldnt allow people to abuse it. Lazy pieces of crap will always find a way to abuse someone or something.

You know... Id hate to label myself with a term that has a negative connotation for most Americans, as I will probably get a bunch of down thumbs for this... but I honestly think communism is the way to go. It has to be tweaked first so that it will work properly.

We need as a nation to provide affordable housing for the working class, and not so gentrify the cities as to drive those who cook and clean for the wealthy from any sort of shelter.
