My Betta male lies on his plants in his tank to. I think he is just getting comfortable. If he is getting a long with every thing in the tank Isn't the saying if it's not broke don't fix it.
Good Luck

He should be fine, bettas are not very active fish due to the males having flowing fins, which slows him down when swimming. Good luck, be careful and don't add more fish or move him to a smaller tank.

lots of bettas behave that way. They like to just hang out. The only thing you might want to check that sounds like you haven't is the temp in the tank. It needs to be between 76 - 80 for them to be active. If that is in range then he's probably just hanging out. If it's not in that range, then you might need to consider getting a heater for your tank.

I thought betta fish were suppose to be by them selves in a tank. I use to work at a pet store and all the betta fish were kept seperate. I think he should be fine unless any of the other fish are picking on him or vise versa.

I think he is fine. Don't move him to a net or box ... that would be terrible. My betta looks bored all the time... it's just the fins... they look sad to me.

My male betta lounges on the plants as well, watching me. If I move he follows.

Just leave him where he is, he's deffinately happier in there
