I have been doing research on this for a while now and am having trouble finding exactly what I am looking for.

I am thinking of going into anthropology and am going to use this experience to help make my decision. As such, I do not want to teach in a big city, and I do not want to live in a dorm with other teachers. I want to live with a host family in a poor area, preferably rural.

I cannot afford to pay for the whole trip, so I need to find something that will pay me. I am not looking to make a profit - so long as I break even on living expenses while I am there, I'll be happy.

I am not picky about what country I go to. I would prefer something in Asia, but if that is not possible I am open to going elsewhere. I would like to teach for three to six months if possible.

Thanks to anyone who can give me some advice and point me in the right direction!

I can recommend www.teachabroad.com

Also if you are wanting to do a course that will get you into any country then CELTA/TEFL is perfect as it is recognised all over the world and there are many schools in Asia that will put you up with host families or pay for your flight and accomodation to their country to teach.

The site above should tell all you need to know about TEFL/CELTA as well as a google search on CELTA. And it will tell you about jobs available in parts of Asia for the period you would like i will let you know about any others that have slipped my mind right now.

Unfortunately it's not going you are going to discover a application that you are going to now not must pay some thing for. You won't be able to get a piece visa with no bachelor's measure and together with your availability so quick, it reduces your possibilities extra. Also, nearly all of techniques that can have unfastened opportunitites have most probably observed their applicants already for the reason that it's almost the core of June. I can suggest a application in the event you wish to touch me through my profile. I am honestly going to China this summer time with this application after having long past final 12 months. It isn't unfastened however it is extremely fair (the airfare is almost all of the price). The rate entails your transportation to/from the airport, your accommodation and foods, your translators so that you can be with you...all you wish to have is your passport, visa, airfare and spending cash whilst there.

There is something called the JET program that allows you to teach English in Japan. If you are caucasian, you will have an advantage because you are the demographic they are looking for. I don't know where to get the info for this program but I'm sure you can find it online. Good luck.

www.craigslist.org often has posts of this type under their education section.

I don't think it's realistic to expect the agency to pay your airfare if you are only going for 3-6 months. Most require a year committment and some require a 2 year committment.

Most Asian airports have bulletin boards with Hostels listed. The Hostels in turn have bulletin boards with jobs listed and a lot of the jobs are for English teachers.
