Our forefathers created this great country with the intention that it be a Union of separate states. The state governments are supposed to be the primary government in citizens lives. The Federal Government is only supposed to do those things that are not possible for the states to do on their own. An example would be to provide national defense, border security or make international treaties.
As a result, the federal government is designed to work very slowly and very inefficiently when it comes to making any big changes. Congress was intended to only be a part time job and the members would meet for a couple of months to handle official business. Never was there the intention that Senators and Congressmen would be lifetime jobs. Never was it intended that they would be passing law after law and creating federal program after federal program.
The Federal Government is way over grown and is involved in many, many areas where it has no business being. Although it would be near impossible to put the Genie back into the bottle, certainly at the very least, every department in the Federal Government needs a thorough outside audit and many redundant and unnecessary departments and programs need to be eliminated.
So, in a way, the answer to your question is we should be getting results but those results should be a much smaller and more efficient Federal Government.

People should demand less from their government in the sense that the government should be smaller and more efficient.
The problem right now is that government is too big and has its hands in too many ventures. Cut the size of government at all levels and demand greater efficiency. Government should be a lean operation not the sloth it has become.

Alot of people have been doing protests, letters to many of the Representatives and Senators, e-mails, petitions. Talking to people to get them involved in contacting administration and bugging the h#%% out of them. The government seems to have a hard time doing what the majority wants them to be doing. If they are supposed to represent us, they better start doing it.

Yes. How about demanding secure borders, English as our national language, and preserving traditioonal American culture. That's what we should be demanding.

Actually, what we should be doing is demanding LESS from government. Less taxes, less interference in our daily lives, less interference in business, less sucking up trillions of dollars into the National Debt, less regulating what people can say, think and read...

When it comes to federal issues I say yes we should have more from what they are supposed to be involved in. The feds need to protect our borders, our language and culture and these issues they rate quite low on.
When it comes to internal issues education, health care, roads, employment ect.... these issues should be taken care of at the state and local level.

No, we should demand our money back.
Government's not supposed "get results" - it's supposed to protect liberty, nothing more, nothing less.
