I have two guppies and one black molly. I was just wondering, what does a guppy look like when its pregnant. One of my guppies seems to be fatter and bloated in the stomach. Can anyone tell me what their guppies looked like before it had fry? Thanks for the help!

The non pregnant guppy look similar to the male in body style. Thin or narrow body. When a guppy is pregnant it looks like it will explode, very fat. Which happens every 30-60 days depending on maturity.

Good luck!!

Are you sure you have a pair? The male has a bigger tail and a gonopodium and female is less colorful and bigger. A guppy can be fat because of constipation, but it is pregnant when it has a gravid black spot/area where her stomach ends.

They will look fatter and more bloated like you mentioned. Sometimes it can look like they swallowed coffee grinds because of their transparent skin, you can see the eggs inside her. I also have had fish bloat up when they are very old and live that way for a long time.
