You have to be in a creative mood. I take a bubble bath and then I have no problem writing! You should go to www.deviantart.com and check out the poems people write there. A poem has to come from the soul.

If the guy in the story writes poems, you can just write a couple lines (if you even need to "cite" any of his work), or mention that his poem is a take-off on...(pick a poem). Or, if you really want to add a twist, have him write poetry that is either "bad" or plagerizes other poet's work. There are many "poets" that fall into the last two catagories...in fact, most people who consider themselves poets fall into the last two catagories...so your theme would have a real basis in fact.
