There seem to be a few choices again, but after the 80's and very early 90's the very idea of cartoons on Saturday morning seemed to have gone the way of the dinosaurs.

Now that were adults and should be watching all that important news stuff, do get up early and watch the news programs that replaced our beloved childhood cartoons on Saturday mornings?

I'm 25 and I remember waking up early on saturdays to watch cartoons for HOURS. And not the crappy cartoons... these are the awesome cartoons that everyone forgot about (captain planet, my pet monster, gummi bears, tale spin, etc)

I really don't know what happened... but have you noticed that there aren't very many commercials for toys anymore either? All the kids nowadays are just interested in computers and cell phones. It's like they stop being kids when they turn 12...

They're still on. Turn your TV on and watch. Most aren't very good, but they are still there. Sometimes I get up to watch cartoons on Saturday if there are good ones on, but most of the time I just stay up on Saturday night and watch Adult Swim for my cartoon fix.

I grew up in the 70's and 80's and there used to be some great cartoons. I think kids are much more jaded now. I used to love Tom and Jerry and Popeye. I guess kids wouldn't go for that now.

The 'specialty' of the time slot of Saturday morning for cartoons do a bit wane down, due the lots of availability of cartoons in other time slots.

Much like the 'specialty' of the theater for cartoon also wane down in the past, due the lots of availability of cartoons in other places.
