Just would like to 2nd the suggestion with NewEgg and TigerDirect. I've gotten great service with both over the years. CDW is also another good company. I personally don't like Best Buy or Circuit City as they are overpriced.

In a Best Computer Hardware shop.
If you know what you're looking for, you could also try Computer Fairs. They tend to sell products at a cheaper price.

I'm not sure if you have it in England but Maplin here in Ireland is great, they have all types of harware at great prices, if you're looking for somewhere more standard PC world is probably best althoug it is expensive! Ooops, sorry I didn't read the whole question.....

why build one? its more expensive , the last one i bought.. just bought .. then upgraded a few parts.. same spec.. worked out cheaper... have a look at "acer amd 3800" dual on ebuyer for a start £300... can't build em that cheap..
as for yoyo tech.. a friend had issues with a sata card bought from them and they were useless/clueless.. also your paying their west end rent.. so not the best place from personal experience.

from buying pc components from various sites i have found the best online site for pc hardware is http://www.scan.co.uk/
as you will see the site is easy to navigate and more important the range is vast and prices are low
another good site is http://www.overclockers.co.uk/,especially if your into p.c modding and system building with top spec components
good luck with your p.c build!
