How much would neurosurgery cost? What is the ballpark figure?

I know there would be different costs for different surgeries. It really doesn't matter to me. I just need a realistic number.

It's hard to give even a ballpark figure because your term is so broad.

It depends on where this surgery is happening in the body. The patient would have a hospital bill, his regular doctor's bill and the surgeon's bill. And it's going to be a LOT. Depending on the operating room cost, how long the patient stays in the hospital, any complications, medications....that can be at least $30,000-$50,000. The patient's regular doctor--they usually charge $150 per hospital visit (could be more). The surgeon? Wow. That's hard to say. I would say at least $10,000---again, depends on what kind of neurosurgery and what the surgeon has to do.

So, a total could be at least $70,000 and more.

There are so many different surgeries and as to how long the surgery is will depend on the anesthia cost and how long your hospital stay will be. If you do not have insurance, which I am assuming there is no insurance, and since this question is pretty vague the safest number to give you would be no less than $20,000 (and that's with very few days in the hospital after surgery)

Last surgery, insurance paid the doctor over $7,000; hospital cost was over $2,000 for just one day; then add in surgery room, recovery room, knock-out drugs and that doctor, etc... The point is: it's not just one doctor. Total cost was over $30,000.
Make sure you need the surgery and have the right doctor for the problem.
Once you know the needed surgery, you can call for a ballpark figure!
