Actually, Afro, I wanted your honest opinion. My thinking is that the U.S.A. can't be as good as it gets, because its actually pretty crappy here.

This a difficult question to answer. In the UK I have seen many young people emigrate to Australia and to lesser extent Canada. Many are put off going to the USA because of their feelings about the cost of health care but I think there are more economic opportunities in the USA. Myself, as an OAP, am beginning to advise people to try the USA because of our changing legal system (and so is that of Australia and New Zealand). It is changing with our membership of the European Union. Some of it is incomprehensible and human rights legislation is favouring the criminal. The French call London - Londistan, for the number of Islamic questionables living there. Bureaucracy is increasing, paper work becoming voluminous and bearing down or more aspects of social life. Our security is extremely fragile and recently, it was only through the grace of God, not the government, that we didn't have three more terrorist catastrophies.

I completely agree with shhkareda re: Canada. Whatever you said, all applied to me. At this point, I would say Australia, Netherlands would have much better choice. Or even US. This comes from life experience and not because I was brainwashed to think otherwise.

It depends partly on your personality and taste. South East Asia is making great strides, parts of the USA are ultra conservative. Do you want to learn a new language? Are you willing to "rough it"? Good luck where ever you decide to live.

Besides all the problems, I think the USA is still he best country to live in. I am not by any means agreeing with all the bad stuff that happens here, but it is a country where hard work can get you almost anywhere.

Sweden. Followed closely by Denmark. It is only because
most of 'us' aren't there that makes both so attractive. Do them a favor. Can you guess what it is?

USA - Of course this come from an obnoxious, arrogant and unapologetic American so I'm a bit biased. Why else would so many break the law to immigrate here?
