Arrogance is the disease the modern man has suffered . one of many reasons may be due to knowing too much.
another is easy availability of technological help
and lot more but you are so right man

arrogance is a vermin to the human race.we all might have a little of it but to the extent that you mentioned is super abnormal and needs counseling

no not really, i'm pretty sure my family and some of my friends do need me as i need them, maybe some of my patients need me, but no i dont need them to lick my feet..lol
