i was thinking just boil it or something

Just scrub them and use a very light bleach solution. Then rinse and allow them to air dry for a few days. That's all that will really be needed for them to be safe for a tank.

you are right about sanatizing the rocks I am sure they have lots of dirt and bacteria on them so just soak them in very hot water for a few hours. Dont use any chemicals or soap at all which could cause some serious issues. Just be cautious on what you use be sure they are very solid and hard nothing that could retain bacteria or dirt

yes just boil it, but make sure you boil it for a long time so that you get into the pores of the rock.

I would run them under very hot or boiling water and then run under cold water... Water temp. changes help a lot {From hot to cold} Don't put soap or anything on them, just water...

It's illegal in most states to remove rocks from streams or forests. It would probably be impossible to get them clean enough for a tank environment anyway.

clean them with viniger and rince with water
