There are two kinds of wars. Just war and unjust wars. If we pay for just war to defend our beautiful America, I don't mind paying any kind of tax including my life, but if it is to invade and harass other people not even a dime.

Hypothetically, if you or your ancestors had taken an oath of alliances , you bear that burden as part of United States of America. Contrary to that, public opinion and direct approach to the home governments may overturn the ruling based on same process. Every action there is opposite action and the law of physics apply.

Private companies have always benefited from war.
Steel companies & such.
Do you have any proff there more of a direct "pocketing" of money than that?
Do you have any link to show how Halliburton is profitting directly?

if you go for trickle down theory well they get it right back. But clearly since the trickle down times the middle class has gotten a gradual and continual beating!!!
Its total balogna that we foot this bill and somehow Exxon comes out with 80+% of oil contracts in Iraq. And the 2 rep. submit a change of course which casually includes protecting american assets.
Its not just paying financially its payment in blood.
If some of the above answers are a real sample of what america "thinks" I have little hope for our future.

Cry, cry, cry! Your not paying $6.00/gal like Spain,France and most other foreign countries, because we send in our troopos to get it! We would be spending a lot for oil more if our troops weren't there! What do you want; someone to give you the oil free? You must be another democrat on welfare, with an American flag flying in front of your house, trying to fool your neighbors while you have dark tinted windows on your car because your cocaine habit is making your eyes sensitive to light. You put down the only president who has fought to get cheap oil, and just because his main concern is not getting you free foodstamps and an everlasting supply of cocaine, your bad mouthing him and your going to vote democrat, naturally!!! Get a job and earn your keep or shut up!!!!

Are you so greedy that you would take financial support from our troops in order to punish the "private sector". Freedom isn't free.

I would rather be paying for a war, which is delineated as a responsibility of the Federal Gov't., rather than paying for welfare, which is not....Private companies profit from every war...

doesn't it bother you that people have turned their back on their country for their liberal politics, it should, the facts are we are improving in the war even if it's slowly, and the facts also are if we leave there will be chaos in Iraq for a long long time, not to mention increased attempts to attack the U.S. and our allies.

I am sorry to say, we pay for everything, even for other countries to survive! We are the number one world power. And our problem is, if you don't use the power, then you lose the power. LETS TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!!!!! Yea right!!!
