I don't believe you can do it directly as the videos are in .flv format. What you'll need to do is download the videos to your computer and then convert them to a format that your mobile can recognise.

There are several ways in which to download videos from YouTube. My own personal favourite is to use Firefox, and one of the available video download plugins. Of course, you then need to install an .flv player to view them on your computer but there are several available ... and they're free of charge.

If you need further information, email me.

GREAT QUESTION!

I've been doing this for only weeks now.

I assure you that none of the downloads below have Spyware or Adware. and are absolutely free.

This information is only valid for PCs. not Macs. Oh, and hopefully your phone accepts video files. If you have a video recorder on your phone, it should accept video files.

Go download

Freez Flv to AVI/MPEG/WMV Converter
AND
Freez 3GP Video Converter

then go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2390

download the VideoDownloader. It's important that you have Firefox. IE will not work for videodownloader. but if you find something, feel free.

Install all of those. and read the steps below:

Video Downloader will download the file.

Go to Firefox and go to the YouTube page of the video.

You should see a small icon that looks like a film with a little diskette next to it. While on the YouTube page, click on that icon.

A little pop-up that says "VideoDownloader 2.0" Should show.

*IMPORTANT PART*: Right click the Download Link. Click Save Link As. Name the video but you must add ".flv" to it. For example, if I want to name it funnyvideo, i must type in "funnyvideo.flv" on the field for File Name. Then, on the little menu below the field, you must change "Firefox Document" to "All Files". Make sure it saves on the desktop for easier access.

When it's done downloading, locate the file and go to Start -> Freez Software -> Freez FLV to AVI MPEG WMV Converter or whatever it's called. Ignore the little Update pop-up. On the Freez FLV screen, Click on settings, and click on WMV. Click OK. On the main screen, click "Add" and locate the file. Make sure the output directory says C:\videooutput\. Wait until it appears on the list. Then click start!

After it's done converting, you should be able to view it on Windows Media Player now. But we're not done yet.

Go to Freez 3GP Video Converter. Ignore the little update screen again. Click Add. Go to C:\videooutput\ which is where the input video is located. Click OK. When it's already on the list, Change the video quality and the audio quality to improve it, unless you want it to look crappy. I usually change "12-Basic" to "4-High" or even "1-Best." But I usually leave the "MPEG4" alone, and I leave the Audio Settings alone too. But that's just me.

*ANOTHER IMPORTANT PART* If you have AT&T or Cingular or any GSM Phone, you must ensure that the File Format says "3GPP." If you have a CDMA carrier/handset like Verizon or Sprint, use "3GPP2." I don't think Nextel would work but whatever. If you don't make sure this works it's not going to load on your phone. It will just sit there doing nothing.

Remember your Output directory folder because you'll need this later. It's should be at C:\Program Files\Smallvideosoft\Freez 3GP Video Converter\3gpOutput\.

Now click Convert Now.

When it's done, check that the file is working. Just open it and it should load on Quicktime. Plug-in your phone to your computer and go to the folder where your videos are stored. This can be important depending on your type of phone. Go find the video you just converted at C:\Program Files\Smallvideosoft\Freez 3GP Video Converter\3gpOutput\.

Drag and drop the file from the 3gpOutput folder to the video folder on your phone.

When it's done, unplug your phone and go to your videos and you should be able to see it!
