If you want to do stunts like wheelies, stoppies, and other lame stunts...then take it to the track or go on a deserted airfield. Basically take it off the public streets and anywhere that's away from ordinary people that you may mame or kill with your irresponsible riding.

Always make sure you ride with friends, so they can help you pick up/tow your bike or call 911 when required. And when you do dump your bike, be a man and cover the cost out of your own pocket. I don't want to be paying higher insurance rates for your stupidities.

My suggestion would be to take an MSF course and learn how to ride properly and safely. Get a used and reliable bike to learn on and take it from there. Posers and image junkies have a tendancy of getting injured or killed.

Ride Safe!

I'm not sure the proper way to wheelie but I do it two ways:
In first gear I snap the throttle at about 3000 rpm. The wheel also goes up if I hold the throttle at 6000 rpm (in first gear) while the clutch is pulled in, then I release the clutch. I once went up in the air close to 90 degrees (by mistake) and could have flipped over. My friends thought I was so cool that day. If I had flipped over, my friends would have thought I was an idiot. Be care full!

Its a bit of a "black Art" you just sort of feel whats right and go with it, it depends on what type/size of bike , a good tip is to try and cover the bake brake, as if it goes a bit pear shaped then a slight tap on the brake will bring front wheel back down, if your playing with a med size bike say 600cc try this drive along 1st gear about 2000rpm pull in clutch &rev to about 6000rpm and quickly let clutch out this should get the front to loft a bit, but you have to do all of this QUICKLY! practice driving along at first and just pull clutch and rev to 6000rpm but dont follow through with letting clutch out wait until you master the throttle first ,keep trying and when you have then try the clutch this has to be let out quickly too try holding it in and instead of feeding it out let it "Ping" out try with only 2 fingers. This was how I was taught on a Bandit 600! alll that remains to be said is that this is very dangerous and it Will go wrong in the beginning and later as well, make sure you are prepared to pick your bike up and replace all the broken bits without complaint as its your idea to do this and most importantly hope you dont permanantly damage yourself, oh by the way dont try this on public roads as plod will have your licence away !

If you have a four cyl. 600 most will come up if you roll on, let off just a little and then roll on hard. In first gear of coarse. Try 2nd gear 45mph-55mph snap clutch with roll on it should come up this is a little hard to explain it comes with trial and error. If you have a 1000cc 1st gear just give it a little throttle it will come up fast. 2nd gear my gixxer 1000 will come up fast @55-75mph with a sharp roll-on, or even faster with a quick flick of the clutch.

Yes, best place to practise this sort of thing is just outside a police station!
They may just notice you out there, and with a bit of luck that will be your first and last 'wheelie!
Good luck with that.

"Beginners" should be more concerned with learning the proper riding skills and strategies to keep them selves alive on the road, and less about hot-doging for their friends.

Shift to 2nd gear at about 15 MPH, and hit the throttle about 1/2 way and there ya go.
