Yesterday the democrats in the senate blocked an amendment to a bill that would have prevented the resurrection of the pre-WWII Fairness Doctrine. While it may have been good then, today it is intended to eliminate freedom of speech.

What right will the democrats seek to take from us next?

I think eventually they will want to be able to tell us if we can have children or not or if we can how many we are allowed to have.
I also think they want to tell us where we can live and how much money we can make and where we can work as well.
And in the future wouldn't it be nice if the terminally ill could just be put out of their misery by euthanizing them?
I also think that's on their agenda for the future of America.
And maybe one day they will allow marriage to take place between two consenting well, one consenting adult and one consenting child.
Churches tax exemption will be taken away and almost any reference to Jesus will be removed from public view along with holidays.
Global Warming will become a religion and Political Correctness will become our new bill of rights.

You will have the right to remain silent and anything you say that they don't agree with will be held against you.

The Fairness Doctrine has been abolished since 1987. There are no plans to reinstate it by the Dems or anyone else. No Dem has advocated it to be reinstated, there is not current legislation pending nor any planned to be written. The Repub admendment was a waste of time. The real issue is the TeleCom Reform Act of 1993 which lifted restrictions against corporations from owning multiple radio/TV/newspapers within the same geographic area. It has been several progressive talk show hosts, not any Dems in House or Senate, that have taken issue with the Reform Act since it allowed several conservative companies, Cumulus for example, to gain monopoly control of radio stations in metro areas and to refuse to broadcast anything but conservative talk. If anyone is restricting freedom of speech it is these conservative companies.

They will take it for themselves, but do everything they can to prevent we the people from exercising OUR right to it.
I imagine the Democrats jumped for joy when the Liberal college students at American university screamed so loud, guest speaker Karl Rove couldn't be heard, and they threw objects at him on the stage. I wonder, what they will feel like if America did become Socialist, and when they tried that again, the Socialist government they wanted, has them all arrested, and held on trial for high crimes of treason?

No one wants to hear what the Communists are saying on their Liberal Radio Talk Shows, so they want to shut down Conservative Talk Radio.

They will trample on the Rights of the Majority, to allow the opinions of the Minority to override. It is Pure Communism, and is as dangerous to the Future of America as mohammedan Terrorists !

Apparently they are going to try to. Once they have taken Free Speech they can push any agenda they want to without any competition. The next thing right taken will probably be the right to bear arms.

The Fairness Doctrine is not designed to eliminate Freedom of Speech. That is only the paranoid delusions of some conservative radio hosts, like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. These are people that actually do not want to engage in an honest debate. They simply want to express their views without challenge.
I agree that the Fairness Doctrine is actually unecessary, like the immigration reform bill was unecessary. There is plenty of air time for all sides and stupid ought to be allowed along with intelligent ones.

They will try but they will fail. Unless a Dem wins in 08, we are safe on this 1.

Hard to say what rights they'll take next, it depends on how much cooperation they get from the Republicans. We wouldn't have the ATF or McCain-Feingold without Republicans, so better not trust your freedom to them, either.
