about 6 hours driving from one end to another, at a top speed of about 70mph. With the exception of the Northeast, most states are comparable in size to the entire UK. Some are really big, Alaska, California and Texas.

it's 3000 miles from the Atlantic coast to the Pacific coast. the entire UK is about the size of West Virginia and that's one of the smaller states. most states are at least twice the size of the UK.
