I immediately thought of looking out the window of an airplane, as we often do, and thought of the terror the passengers must have known in the final moments. And then i began to think of what kind of person could look out the windshield and fly directly into a building? That Monday night I was on my way to work in Manhattan and the train was full of a big group that had just left a baseball game. I was like, "What the hell are you talking bout?" Then i saw it on the news, looking like a movie clip. And I just went numb. I had no feeling whatsoever. It didn't hit me until they let everybody go back to work and I had to see men on the subways covered head to toe in white dust (from helping at Ground Zero). The looks on their faces was enough to make you cry. I must've seen a million MISSING posters on my way to work everyday. Even still it didn't really hit me until going to my uncle's funeral with 3 bones in his casket.
