as a Christian, i never thought that one of my relaitve can be an unbeliever.. it really hit me hard when I learned about it.. So I want to break their belief ; their belief that the world came from nothingness. Their belief that the world came from that Big Bang Theory. I want to break it and make them realize that there is a God behind all of these creations.. So please help me.. Help me break their belief.. They are stubborn and very hard headed. So I want to get the right and easy-to-digest answers to get them to the right track again.. Thank you and God bless.

sorry about the first detail.. i just asked about the big bang theory.. I made a big mistake to include my personal problem to ask this question.. believe me when I say I respect what they believe and i don't push them to believe me.. all I want is to prove them is that big bang theory is not a hard proof of everything's existence.. i want answers not speculations and judgement.. I respect your opinions and I'm sorry if I hit someone unintentionally.. I think it's wrong to post this question here..

I need answers.. Please do not judge..

I hate to break this to you but most of the people on earth do not believe in God. I am an extremely open minded person. I respect all people and all their beliefs because I have been at the point where I have been bouncing back and forth between religion and science. Scientist want to say that their is no proof of a god or some kind of supernatural force that created the universe. Most scientists want to believe that the big bang theory is true just because of red shift and their analysis that the universe is expanding. And they want to believe that the universe was born out of a singularity. All these theories and science can't prove a thing. Don't get me wrong...I love science. I have been studying astrophysics for years. But one thing I have based a lot of my beliefs on is that you can't get something from nothing. Science has shown that the smallest atom we know of is the hydrogen atom. Don't bother asking where hydrogen came from, even though 99% of all matter in the universe is made of it, and all matter in the universe was derived from some long string of fusion processes that all started with hydrogen, because scientist can't prove where it came from. This singularity, that we speak of that triggered the big bang. What was here before it? Another universe? Possibly, but something had to have created it. It didn't come from no where. Something much greater than anything we know of or have ever seen must have created the universe. And I believe that to be god. God doesn't have a beginning and end because he is not limited by the effects of time. Even Albert Eistein believed that some kind of supernatural force had to have created the universe. Everyone should be open minded and just listen to other people's ideas and not be judgemental.

First of all you're asking a question about faith and religion. This really isn't the right forum for that.

However, if you want to convince someone that the Big Bang is a false theory then all you've got to do is present them with some scientific evidence proving that it's not the best explanation.

It's regrettable that most religious fundamentalists can't...or refuse...to understand that there's no reason that the Big Bang *AND* God are not compatible. The Big Bang happened (..there's a mountain of evidence to prove it..) and God made it possible to happen. It's as simple as that..!

Those who insist on trying to take each and every word in a book written almost 2,000 years ago by numerous different authors, few of whom actually agree with another, as the literal and definitive proof of *anything* are akin to the narrow-minded people who for whatever reason let themselves succumb to some ridiculous cult or another.

Just because you believe in something wholeheartedly doesn't make it 100% true. The fact is, no one can prove how the universe came into existence.

Have you ever heard of non-Christians complain about the bigot Christians who force their beliefs on everyone else? This would be an example of one of those situations.

Do you know who the real stubborn and hard-headed person in this situation is? YOU. YOU refuse to acknowledge that someone else could have a different belief than you. YOU have resolved that you HAVE to MAKE them believe as you do. YOU have decided that YOU'RE RIGHT AND THEY'RE WRONG. YOU want to put them on the "right track" again.

I advise you to just let them believe as they want to believe. If you try to shove what you say is right down their throats they will eventually resent you for it. They will start to avoid you because interaction with you will become unpleasant. And they will be all the better for it if you're so self-centered as to think that you're right and the rest of the world is wrong if they don't agree with you.

I just told someone they were in the wrong section. They were looking for astrology or voodoo. I will tell you the same thing, you are looking for R&S or some other fairy tale section.

If you want to sway a person with any scientific background you will need evidence, it can be circumstantial but it must hold up to scurtiny. A six day creation doesn't, a flood with enough water to cover the Mountains of Ararat doesn't, walls tumbling down because somone blew a trumpet doesn't and the list goes on.

Present a plausable alternative and scientist everywhere will evaluate it. Present a fairy tale and they will laugh and go on with real research.

and where does this nothingness come from ?

well, you should consider at what time the bible or other religious interpretations have been written.
I'm always a little disappointed that people are stupid enough to still think the earth is nothing more than 6000 years old, cause a unforgivable old book tells them.

i'm very sure that there is a God
for me it does not have a name
anything else is a religious interpretation based on one of many so called 'holy-books'
Along with what you see what people do by calling it their one and only truth... waaaah forgive me.

I would smile on him, and arrange with the big bang, cause there's evidence it happened, whereas the bible does not withstand this and that test (nevertheless its an interesting book, no doubt).

The world today is a little bit more complex than your book tells you, and i would call it to be wise exploring it. Otherwise you might get a very limited view on things around you.

1. Your posting is a rant, rather than a question. If your faith was founded in anything sane or solid, you would not be frightened or distressed by anyone else's beliefs.

2. Your issues are in the area of philosophy, myths and legends, and religion and spirituality, and as such are not suitable for the "Astronomy and space" section under "Science and Mathematics."

3. There are many people--and you seem to be one--who have been trained to identify themselves as "Christians" but who know little if anything of the Christian faith. Christians revere the Bible because it is the story of the way a certain small segment of the population of the ancient world understood that God had revealed himself to them, and how they had historically responded to the revelation.

Christians do not confuse the story of the revelation as expressed in myths and legends of the ancient Near East with the revelation itself, and do consider science to be part of God's revelation of how the world works and how to respond.

As such, Christians are not afraid of the scientific view of the world or its workings. Again, if faith is strong and sane, it welcomes evidence of the truth, such as that given by science. Apparently this form of Christianity is very different from what you have been trained in. But it is well worth learning about and trying for yourself.

The Big Bang seems to explain correctly how the universe as we can observe it began, at least in its most recent incarnation. I don't recommend attempting to persuade people who understand that to believe something that isn't true.

Shalom Elohim!

I understand your frustration
Let me heal your pain

I am using words you can understand only for you
science deals with facts e.g. there was an explosion and the twin towers came down to rubble
Science examines the rubble and can work out exactly where each piece of rubble came from on the building

What science cannot do is establish weather God exists or doesn't exist or if God or the devil's will was done.
Any scientist worth his salt should back me up.

On the other hand
No human being can disprove the big bang as well as no human being can prove God exists to other human beings.
otherwise everybody would believe in God and there would be pure harmony

From the point of view of the religious side of me
The big bang doesn't prove at all that God doesn't exist.
From the point of view of the scientific side of me
I do not mix the two because the one helps me understand about life around me
the other feeds my soul

Those that have fed you the line that any scientific fact means that god doesn't exist are nor scientists nor men of God.(Whatever their religion)

Be very careful not to push your relative in the wrong direction but use wisdom and knowledge to calm your spirit .
Anyway Gods will will be done and we are not thy brothers keeper.
So relax

Things that you can put forward are
Why can't anybody create another form of life anywhere in the known cosmos
Why hasn't life developed in different forms on other planets of our solar system or in a laboratory.
Why certain molecules exist only in the L conformation and not the other..... etc etc etc etc

You can be a believer and still agree with the big bang theory. The BBT does not posit what happened prior to the event, nor what happened to create the event. If one wishes, believing that a higher power was the impetus does not conflict with agreeing that it occurred. It only requires you not subscribe to the six day creation, as science and the BBT would conflict with theology on this point, for sure.

What makes you think you're right?? How do you know that the world was created by god?? I think the only way anyone can "help" you is by telling you that you're wrong. You need to start respecting peoples beliefs, even if they don't respect yours.

Item one.
this is the wrong place to ask such a question. Please go to the Religion, the Spirituality, or the Mythology sections with questions like this.

Item two.
you can't provide any evidence because that is probably what really happened, and no one was alive at the time to tell us all about it. Try devoting your energy to doing something worthwhile in life.
