One of the things about psychology is you have to be able to identify what you are feeling. Why does not matter. Feelings are. Idintifying it is another task.
I don't understand why you call the loss of a lover or friend as spiritual. This is not spiritual pain, don't you think you are feeling rejection? And that is what is causing the pain, once you examine and look at what you are truly feeling. break it down. but don't say it is spiritual because this implies that you blame God for your feelings, your feelings are yours, you can control them by analyzing them.
You come to know yourself better and become stronger in handling these situations where you are feeling rejected.
I learned this in group therapy it is a wonderful way to help your through difficult times, seek it if you feel it would help you. God bring your peace.

Sorry you are going through this....repeating patterns is karma.
Everything that happens to us is our karma, both good and bad. Everything that we are experiencing now is a reaction to something we have done in the past, either in this life or a previous one. Also by our actions now we are creating our karma for the future.
Simple: What goes around comes around. What you sow, so shall you reap.
The hard part is never knowing if it's something you did in this life or a past one.
Also consider:
Bad luck seems to come attached to so many different factors, but karma may be one of them. If you really believe this to be the case (or even if you don't) then to my understanding the best way to deal with it would be thus :
1. Acceptance - bad karma is a kind of self inflicted penance...so accept that things are going against your way - accept with an open heart.
2. Learn - karma is a self inflicted teaching tool, - so dig deep to find any lessons you can amongst the things that are happening to you. Look for a message, look for a reason...what is it trying to show you?
3. Be good and forgiving - to others. Bad karma is somewhat unavoidable in the immediate future since it is already programmed (by your higher self). But deeds of good will and FORGIVING of others will help clear the future karmic road.
4. Remember - a rocky karmic road is an opportunity for increased personal growth. See it as a positive challenge (as best you can). Let it help you grow strong, but remain open at the same time... Open to lessons, open to growth, open to change.... Change hurts, but usually only the more so because we fight it.

I don't know about "Karma", but I think I can help you on this one.
Although people are unfaithful and forsake us, the Bible says that Jesus will never forsake us.
Look at what the Bible has to say about this:
Isaiah 49:15-16
Can a woman forget her nursing child and have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I will not forget you. Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of my hands.
Zephaniah 3:17
The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing."
Matthew 28:20
I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
Romans 8:35-39
Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Just as it is written, "For Your sake we are being put to death all day long; we were considered as sheep to be slaughtered." But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
II Timothy 2:13
If we are faithless, He remains faithful.
Hebrews 13:5-6
... He Himself has said, "I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you," so that we may confidently say, "The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?"
I suggest that you take these Scriptures and others that you find in the Bible and read them every day. Even better, make a list of all the Scriptures you can find that say that God loves you. Then take 15 min each day and take a break, play some peaceful music, take a deep breath and meditate on these Scriptures. And I know that will help you to get it into your heart that God loves you and He will never leave you. When you realize this, it won't matter so much what people do to you.

you allow yourself to grieve...when you are ready you do some soul searching as to perhaps you are doing something that scares relationships away....maybe, you are attracted to people who don't like commitment or who are attracted to you for just sex, etc, etc. Only you can figure out why this keeps happening to you. Go to Barnes and Noble in the self-help section as there are many books that deal with this kind of growing....after all you are growing and changing...remember that every situation is an opportunity to grown and learn....and that having been through this you can make deliberate consious decisions about who you get involved with....remember the person you are today is because of all your past experiences....use them. Counseling will help you discover yourself and ways in which you can grow from these experiences...god bless. allow yourself to grieve first, then look at yourself in an objective way. best wishes
