Definitely there is a need for a kiddies site Im not happy at all with the overt dumbing down of the general poulace via sites like Yahooanswers, Bebo, Myspace etc.....in fact its a societal and cultural dumbing down in general which is found all over our TV sets and in the movies i.e Jack ***, Big Brother, Spiderman, the Hulk, Finding Nemo, Shrek fer krissakes!!! its all cartoon escapism designed to dumb us all down as much as possible while the rich fux of this world rape, loot and pillage the Middle East!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.......

Well I love kids, but I understand what you are saying. I dont mind them asking, but I do think they shouldn't respond to an adult question when they dont have any personal knowledge of whats being asked. This is a site to get help, and the adult asking is not getting help by reading an email from a child that doesn't know what she is talking about. Its also a waste of time for both parties.
Yes, I think you have a great idea there. They should create a place for children to ask and receive answers. They could call it Yahoo Answers: Kids.

I agree need a site for younger kids...like 12-17 or something. because the advice given to a 13 year old would be different than that for a 25 year old...and unless the question is obvious "how can i get him to kiss me?" then most answering would assume the question was posted by an adult

In placing a divide between ages you reduce variety in your answers, as kids and adults have different solutions and different approaches to the same problems. I would like to point out also that kids don't alway have inferior answers to adults, and their method of thinking may yield a answer an adult would not think of. Also, people would just post their question in both sections and slow the server right down.

Are you sure your not a kid?
because your acting pretty immature for an adult..
Im 14, and im a top contributor, just to prove you can give good advice or be curious and ask questions no matter what age you are, and there should not be a restriction to that freedom. period.

Well if you asked a "grown up" question then the kids would probably not even answer it. They might not even know what it means. And if they do, that is okay but you will probably get adult answerers to answer your question :) I personally dont mind kids because I love kids! lol.

Well, I do mind the kids... however, if I answer one of their questions I try to remember to be kind and treat them as I would want someone to treat my son/daughter at that age.
I realize that their questions seem trivial to us, as adults with mortgage and bills and real problems, but to them these questions represent their problems and to them they are very real.
They're seeking advice from us, complete strangers and the very least we can do is not be rude to them.
Remember, do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
