my iPod is being weird., and it doesn't work.?

i have a nano. it doesnt turn off when i press pause/play so its always using the battery. and then whenver i try to plug it in to my computer it doesn't show up on iTunes which means i cant put my new songs on it. wtf is wronggggg?

in settings look 4 where u can edit whats on the main menu...add the sleep button 2 that. try clicking on tht button
