Is Congress about to grow a set and start reeling in Bush's continued attempts at grabbing power unconstitutionally? Our founding fathers specifically structured the Constitution so Congress could prevent the power grab that this administration has undertaken. When will our representatives stop being cowardly politicians and start acting like statesmen and patriots?

NEW YORK - Last March, the U.S. Congress passed legislation requiring Justice Department officials to give them reports by certain dates on how the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is using the USA Patriot Act to search homes and secretly seize papers.
But when President George W. Bush signed the measure into law, he added a "signing statement". The statement said the president can order Justice Department officials to withhold any information from Congress if he decides it could impair national security or executive branch operations.
Late last year, Congress approved legislation declaring that U.S. interrogators cannot torture prisoners or otherwise subject them to cruel, inhuman, and degrading treatment.
But President Bush's signing statement said the president, as commander in chief, can waive the torture ban if he decides that harsh interrogation techniques will assist in preventing terrorist attacks.

Bush & his Neo-Con buddies are very successful @ dividing Americans apart.
I really worry about another civil war breaking out in America because then there would be no elections and the Bush would become a dictator.
If he's the commander & chief of the military, how do we get him out of office?

I hope so. Four more members of the U.S. House signed on this week as cosponsors of H. Res. 333, the measure that outlines articles of impeachment against Vice President Dick Cheney for actively and systematically seeking to deceive citizens and Congress about an alleged threat of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction and an alleged relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda and for openly threatening aggression against Iran.
"The Founders intended impeachment to be used when those running the government forgot that they worked for the people, and the Founders intended impeachment to be used when those running the government acted as though they were above the law," explains Congressman Jim McDermott, who argues that, "The vice president holds himself above the law, and it is time for the Congress to enforce the law."

The liberal representatives, if you recall, gave him this power. They voted on it, approved it, and gave it to him. Now, most (if not all) of those in congress have some law degree, and most had a practice at one point in time, so don't feed me any b/s line about how they were tricked into signing it.
