Firstly, thanks to jeeper_peeper321 for finding the link to the poll.

Members of the military are evenly split over whether the Iraq war is a separate military operation, or part of the war on terror. They seem to think troop levels in Iraq are just about right, but we don't have nearly enough in Afghanistan. Another interesting tidbit: While a small majority believes Bush has thier best interests at heart, a clearer majority will take the military leadership over Bush's any day.

Now, keep in mind that this is among people who volunteered to serve under Bush, and who (by military regulations) cannot question or challenge him.

So, even when doing so violates regs, 65% still disapprove. Wonder what the numbers would be if everyone spoke freely.

A clearer majority will take the military leadership over Bush's? Really? I thought that why the country is waiting until the GENERALS (YOU KNOW THE MILITARY LEADERS) come out with their report in September. Bush is letting the military leadership run the war, he's just providing the funding. And it's no surprise that only 35% approve of the war to begin with, after all, do some of YOUR OWN research and you will find that only two wars had overwhelming popularity in the U.S. WWI and WWII, and that's because those were quick in and out jobs for the US. Never mind the fact that both wars lasted years before we got involved, and ended them.

And let me guess; All 35% are on this site ;).
It seems to be the general consensus of my friends that are in the military, that we did in-fact, leave Afghanistan prematurely.

35%

That seems a little high. I have seen lower. I have a hard time finding 35% of the republicans I know still supporting Bush.
