The Icc has the following as best in:

Tests - Ricky Ponting of Australia.
One Day Internationals - Kevin Pieterson of England.

Though of late he is not in good form, I still consider Sachin Tendulkar as the best batsmen in the game of cricket as he has setup many batting records, some of which will remain unbroken for the years to come.

Sachin Tendulkar. They say that a lying elephant is taller than a standing donkey. I don't care if someone scores a century because what matters is how the batsman plays. It's a seer delight to watch Sachin play. In my opinion he is the best batsman in the world.
