It states in the profile for the Leaf Fish on Pet Solutions-"The best environment for the Leaf Fish is a well planted 20 gallon tank with live rock present." It is freshwater, too!! Freshwater live rock-I've also heard about it with those aquababy things. Please answer??

Freshwater live rock is basically the same as saltwater live rock... except for freshwater... if you see what I mean. It would be rock that's home to an assortment of smaller freshwater crustaceans and the like as well as providing a bacterial bed for the tank. I have seen it from time to time advertised, but never have I seen it in person or known anyone that used it. I kept my leaf fish in a well matured, stable tank with lots of plant cover and had no real problems with them. The main point would be that the tank should be very mature and stable as they are touchy about water chemistry.

By 'live' they are referring to already having living bacteria in the tank or filter, because these fish can't handle a tank that isn't cycled yet. You don't necessarily need live rock, but you do need some sort of live media in the tank or filter to begin with.
