It is huge sin to judge others. Jesus said, "Judge not that ye be not judged." This person is not your friend. Stop talking to her. She is a religious nut and very small minded.

Some friend. You should mention to her that there is only one Judge. Did God pass this job onto her? Catholics fear that if they don't attend church and confess and take communion that they will go to hell. They attend church out of fear. Shouldn't church be a haven for the believers? No matter who you are or how often you attend a building [church] you should be there because you want to be. If your heart isn't right then don't go. Lightening bolts aren't going to come out of the sky and zap you. "Don't judge, lest ye be judged." Take a moment to pray for her. She is a person you should feel sorry for. She has no idea what being a Christain is all about. She needs to read and study and then maybe she'll see the error of her ways. I think she's jealous that she has to go and you get to stay home.

You are not going to hell. You don't need to go to church to be a good Catholic or a good person. Someone who has never been to church once in their lives could still be a very good person. Your friend has no right to say that to you! If she's going to talk to you like that, maybe you should stop talking to her...she doesn't seem like much of a friend.

Er, you kinda are.
Catholics DO worship God, but that god is still on the cross though your own bible says he rose again the third day.
Why are you crucifying him for you sins when he already did that?
You're supposedly saved, and redeemed from a life of sin--so long as you walk with God.
Secondly, you worship idols.
Yes, people can be very good and holy, but they're human. They have sin nature, and are sinful since birth, unlike Christ.
There is no reason why you should be worshipping, i.e. praying to human beings.
That's like praying to a golden calf, for example.
Another idol in the catholic church is the Virgin Mary.
Yeah, I know, she gave birth to the Son of God, but she too was human. She had no idea who christ was when He was born and throughout his life, even up to AND AFTER the crucifixion.
She may be a little holier then the usual human, but she's still human, and was born with a sin nature.
Plus, what do you think she is? A magician? A wizardess?
She cannot wave her magic hands around and God will automatically grant your prayers.
God doesn't obey the whisperings of Mary.
I also don't think your friend was implying Catholics don't go to church. I think she may mean they go to a church that does not worship EXCLUSIVELY God.
As for 'what you should do' you might want to look into your religion and the religion of Christianity, see what differences lay between them.
I suggest the book, 'Why so many gods?' by Tim Baker and Kate Etue.
That book covers most religions, including [but not limited to] Satanism, Buddhism, Hinduism, and many others including Christianity AND Catholiscism.

ok well its a load of crap, just cause you dont go to church all the time does not mean you will go to hell, you can beleive in god and worship in your own home or anywhere, and not just in a church...and that does not make you a horrible person....i would ignore the friend and get a new one lol that understands the way you feel.

Believe it or not, your friend said what she said to you because she cares about you. She was just VERY clumsy about it.
What she was trying to do is explain to you what "tgrx" above explained. Your friend was just trying to tell you that just because you're "Catholic" doesn't automatically mean you have a "ticket to Heaven" anymore than someone who attends any particular church. It's all about a person's individual relationship with God. She should have just encouraged you to make sure your relationship was right, instead of assuming it wasn't.
But, you're all still young, and still learning how to deal with people in different situations in life, right? If she was a good friend of yours before this happened, you might want to consider forgiving her this clumsy misstep. If she does it again, tell her that religion is a topic you do not want to talk about with her. She's likely to respect that.
Take care.

Honestly, she doesn't sound like a very good friend. It may be hard to do, but I think you should either stop listening to her, or just discontinue being her friend. She is not right at all, you'll never go to Hell! Neither will your sister and your best friend. I never go to church, but I do believe in God. I just think that as long as you believe in him, you'll go to Heaven. Really, that's all he wants, is for us to love him and trust him. That's at least what I believe.. I hope I helped you!

There's nothing for you to do. I wonder what she meant. If she's the type of Christian I think she is she probably didn't explain correctly and you guys are having a misunderstanding.
Going to church (no matter how often), being good, believing in God--none of this will get you in heavan. The only thing (according to the Bible) that will get you in heaven is if you admit (Romans 3) that you are a sinner, that you deserve God's punishment and if you believe that God sent Jesus Christ to take your punishment and that by dying on the cross He paid the price for your sin and if you simply believe on what He did for YOU... You are saved and get to go to heaven. It's that simple. Don't let anyone confuse you.
By believing in Christ you are able to have a relationship with God. It changes the rest of your life. If you continue to have questions or doubts, please pray to God about it and ask Him to answer your questions.

I have found that protesters don't understand us Catholics at all. No biggy. Ask the protesters why they protest? Why did they break away from the Catholic church. Many can't answer. HA HA HA. Rest assured, Jesus said, keep the commandments and love me as you love your neighbor and self. Do that and you are set. God Bless.

First of all, you do not have a friend. True friends do not judge each other. She is saying these things to feel superior to you.
Second. It is never a good idea to discuss religon among your friends. There will always be differences in beliefs and these should be respected and left alone.

Some friend you've got! She has no way of knowing whether you have a good relationship with God. I'd ignore her and spend my time looking for a real friend.
