Firstly an end to to the war in the pacific, the Japanese hierarcy were prepared for a land battle as they believed the americans were going to invade Japan, which would have resulted in millions more deaths on all sides. That doesn't condone what the americans did, and the outcome was an excrutiating death for many innocent people, but war is like that no matter how you look at it. Survivors suffered serious long term effects like cancers and other related illnesses, many resulting in a long lingering death.

-the fist effect was the murder of more than 100 000 inhabitants.

-the secund one was the abandonment of the war.
-the third effect was on the health of the survivors: birth of disfigured and abnormal monsters. serious burns and and handicaps. slow death of several thousands of innocent.
-the last one according to me is the environment : serious air pollution. rate of radioactivity high and durable in time. pollutant gases.

that was a drama that could be avoided cause USA won before that... poor people.
