Yes, twice. Once I asked the question, "Do you sometimes feel like jerking a burka off a Muslim ladies head?" And I got a violation. I just wanted those women to free themselves from the male domination that they seem to live under. I suppose I should have worded the question differently. Then I got a violation for an answer and it had something to do with Islam also, but I can't remember what. You just have to try not to offend anyone maliciously I think.

Yes, I have had a few that I haven't made any sense of. And protesting hasn't gotten me anywhere, either. They answered my protest once, with a list of some very vague community guidelines and I still did not know which of them I had violated.

Makes me angry to see some doing blatant violations, and they never stop.

Of course. We all have. I hope everybody understands that it's entirely arbitrary. It's based purely on how many people hit the Flag button. It has absolutely nothing to do with the actual content of your answer. Yahoo doesn't have the resources to screen every single complaint, so it's all just a numbers game.

I have had 40 million of them and appealed 20 million and 1 has been overturned.

"I received a violation notice. Can I appeal?
"To contest a violation notice that you've received, post your appeal on the Yahoo! Answers Violation Appeals Board. Please post only one message to appeal your deletion or suspension. Include the content that was removed, and why you feel it was a mistake. If you have multiple appeals please include them all in one post.

"We will remove all off-topic posts--this includes your personal opinions about the appeals.

"IMPORTANT: Please read our Terms of Service. Posts that harass, abuse, or threaten other members, contain obscene or otherwise objectionable content, or contain spam, may be removed and may result in the loss of your Yahoo! ID (including email).

"We will respond to appeals within 48 hours. If we feel that it was indeed a wrongful violation we will ensure a second review of your violation. Alternatively, you may reply to your violation notice to request an appeal. If your violation or suspension is overturned you will receive an email confirmation and get your points back. If you have any follow-up questions, please email y_answrs_team@yahoo.com

"For suggestions, tech support, or to report bugs, please visit our Forum."

Sadly, some users threaten or harrass or even report respondants whose opinions vary from their own. This violates numerous specific prohibitions in the Community Guidelines; cite them if you report THEm for such bullying.

yahoo is not perfect.....also if you report someone for abuse, the administration gets confused between you and the abuser, and shut you both down...so do not use any ID here that you do not want crashed eventually
