Salary cap.
Bob Kraft may want to spend as much as Steinbrenner, the rules are different (better if you ask me) in the nfl than MLB.
Irsay can, and does, spend as much on players as Kraft. Kraft can have better buffet at Organized Team Activities.
Maybe that is the complaint. The Patriots have a catering advantage.:)
Anyone still under the impression the Patriots throw money at people like Steinbrenner, please point out who is on the Patriots that is the highest paid player at his position. (Michael Vick dwarfs all QBs.)
Adrian Thomas actually took less to be a Patriot. Did A-Rod or Roger Clemmens take less to be Yankees?
The person who told you that was either:
A) a Colts fan
B) trying to pi$$ you off
C) certifiably insane.:)

No and there are a few things. First is that the NFL has a salary cap so the teams can't just buy the best players. Second the Pats haven't had the BEST players for years. They have had a good team since like 2001(thanks to BRADY) but that was a TEAM not a bunch of big name players. Third the Red Sox don't come close to comparing to the Colts. The Colts have been GREAT in the regular season and getting in the playoffs almost every year. Fourth they are in Different divisions, unlike the Yanks and Red Sox.

I see where this is coming from, but no, I don't think there's any team in any sport that you can compare to the Yankees. Yes, the Patriots have won a lot of championships recently, and they field a great team every year it seems like, but the Yankees have been doing this for decades and decades, the Patriots were just another team in 2000. If you look on a miniature scale, yes, in a way, the Colts winning it this year is similar to what the Red Sox did to win the world series a few years back, but I think their rivalry is too recent to compare to the Red Sox Yankees rivarly, which in my opinion is the greatest rivalry in all of sports.
Also, contract deals are not an issue with the Pats. Tom Brady has proven to be a selfless, team oriented leader, taking at least two major pay cuts to keep his team intact, whereas the Yankees are facing some contract issues all the time. The Yankees club is a mixed group of all stars who are in it for themselves, and then there are guys like Jeter who are more team oriented, but the whole Patriots organization is built around this team oriented concept.

The way you compare them to the yankees maybe yes a little
with all those off-season moves the Patriots had
just signing very good expensive quality players did kind of remind me of the yanks
No, the colts are nothing like the Red sox...don't get me wrong the red sox are good but just the way the colts and manning dominate is incredible
Lastly colts win last year was an incredible blow-out and the Red sox world series win and come-back was amazing
p.s. Go Red Sox!

No. The "Yankees of the NFL" are the Green Bay Packers since both sports franchises have been around for many decades AND they have the most World championships in each of their respective sport.
The Colts-Patriots rivalry the last few years kind of remind you of the Red Sox-Yankee rivalry of recent times, but you can say the same thing with the Cowboys-49ers rivalry in the early 1990s.
I see the Patriots more or less like the Pittsburgh Steelers of the 1970s.

you cannot compare any football team to the yankees because there is no salary cap in baseball which is exactly why the yankees are the yankees. they go out and buy so many all stars to make their roster. the patriots have done it the right way, they have relied on the draft for their core players. only recently have they been spending money to get players. the red sox shocked the world by beating their rivals in the most amazing fashion, down 0-3 to winning the whole thing. the colts had been on the verge of winning the big game and couldn't do it until last year. because the yankee sox rivalry is 100 + years old so no rivalry in sports compares. i love the argument but its comparing apples to oranges.

the yankees of the nfl are the redskins, they spend money on people who arent as great as they say they are so they would get as good as they once were and then they suck. im saying this and im a redskins fan lol. well actually the colts have the highest payroll but they are really good and i dont really follow the red sox because im a baltimore fan but the red sox are really good too, so i guess you could compare the red sox and colts in that way.

well the patriots are a good team yes i kind of see them as Yankees in football but they don't have 26 tittles well the colts finally won it manning finally beat the patriots so it is kind of like that because to get the W's the red sox usually have to by the Yankees and the colts did that they went by the pats

No the Yankees try and do it with a %$^&load of money which I truly consider cheating, and the Patriots do it with sheer talent, a hunger for victory and players that are not greedy. People that give up money to bring in other talented people to help lead them to a championship. The Yankees players for the most part don't care about winning it all they only care about money.
