Chain-letter schemes; all the awful scams on the internet telling people they've 'won a million' or about an inheritance that doesn't exist in order to get their bank details ... (many internet scams they say, are from Nigeria) everyone beware. Seminars/programmes/courses to 'help people help themselves' - many of them are to help those who run the course to line their own pockets. Videos and books that are supposed to help people get rich and make money out of real estate/setting up their own business/making cash from the internet ... my daughter recently 'won' a free make-over which she turned down because many of her friends won it too and we worked out (also doing some research on the internet) that it was a scam and would have proved costly if she'd gone ahead with it. Other such scams are: people who are told they've won a holiday but by the time they pay for the meals etc it will have cost them more than a holiday arranged by themselves. Fraudulent business opportunity scams - some encouraging people to work from home but it's the upfront money these people are expected to pay that is all the fraudsters are after. Fraudulent emails purporting to be a bank/building society etc with no other purpose in mind than to get personal information out of people. How many of these have we all received?!
And sadly it is scams/people/experiences like these that make us lose faith in humanity and make us realise not everyone is good at heart and we all need to be wary.

Everything has a purpose other than making money but making money is at the root of all things and becomes the focus of all things. Even Welfare recipients , they perhaps supply the greatest gift. They give us the opportunity to know the joy of giving.
