the instructions are in the kit. turn off water supply and disconnect hose, you might find a hose connection similar to a water hose or a solid copper or stainless tube, dont kink the solid tubes as you can cause a leak or weak spot that will eventually leak as water flowing through tube erodes the weak spot. if it is a solid tube it will have a gasket in it you may be able to reuse it or may have to replace it it should have a new one in kit and finish getting water out with shop vac that was a life saver when I was a plumber just dont over tighten because you can crack the tank turn on water and check for leaks. Hopefully you wont have to mess with compression fittings and that there is a shut off valve right under the toilet. Good luck it usually is very easy but I just wanted to give you some scenarios to be aware of

If you purchase a Fluidmaster 400A fill-valve, the instructions are really easy to read and follow. Less than $10 at Home Centers. Take the old flapper with you and buy the same type. There are all kinds of "new and improved" flappers that may not work on your toilet.

it is so easy, if you get worried about wrong parts.turn water off to toilet flush it and take a rag and get the renaming water out of tank, then take parts off that you need to replace. chances are you just need a flapper if the toilet is running all the time.the flapper is what releases the water into the bowl,if its not flushing correctly then you will need to replace the rest of the guts in toilet

It is not difficult at all, but where you can go wrong is in buying the wrong parts for your tank.
Find a local distributor from your brand, and buy them from tehre. Avoid genereic, Wal-Mart and Home Depot parts.
If you have a digital camera, take pictures of the set up and make notes as you take things apart. It will be easier to put everything back together again, but it is not a science at all.

It's not hard at all. I replaced mine all by myself with out any problems. there are pics and instructions with the replacement flapper. Don't go for cheap, buy the best, you don't want to have to keep doing this.

Incredibly easy - the instructions (with diagrams) will be included with the fixer kit.
